One of my friends once made the comment that nobody stops to smell the rain anymore. A silly cliche of 'smell the roses/coffee', but just as effective.

Take for example your average rainstorm. You've known of it's coming for a while. The clouds in the distance, the spiels from your local meteorologist on the telly, but you never know when it's going to start leaking on top of you.

The smell of rain. That moist, deep, fresh, earthy smell that you take in as much as you can before it gets washed away. You always know that the rain is about ten minutes away when you smell it. Some people don't even know rain has a smell, because they never stop to smell it. Rain is an omen to them, they don't like it at all. Nobody stops to smell the rain anymore, watch the clouds roll in, and pour themselves onto you, soaking you to the bone until you are one with the rain. Taking in one of the most important essences of life, you embrace it. Embrace life.

I actually drew this back in October I think, inspired by other things than the rain. I was going to draw a completely new piece, but I figured that this was very nice and I threw some color on it to make it seem presentable.
