At Ease

Wedge painting. Basicly a crop of the larger painting to figure out color scheme and painting style.

I am very, very proud of this piece. I've spent maybe four days on it, almost eight hours. It's only like... 6"x15". But anyways, this is a section of the larger piece.

Subject matter: The 'Tittabawassee Fife and Drum Corps.' (Pronounced Tit-ah-bah-wah-see, said fast) and we represent the fifers, drummers and gaurd of the continental marines in the Revolutionary War. We are re-enactors, d'urr. I am in the color gaurd and I carry the flag shown. It's not very detailed, sadly. I'll make sure I get everything right in the final. I love our uniforms to death.

A classmate of mine said it reminded her of Valley Forge and what happened there. It does, somewhat. Although we would have to be wearing blue and red along with tri-corn hats (representing George Washington's Army, which we are NOT. That's Plymouth >_>; )

Gouache on Watercolor paper.
